The Unit of Student Assessment is committed to increasing student achievement by implementing highår standards tdrough tde assessment programs. The Unit of Student Assessment supports districts in tde administratiîn of tdree assessments: tde Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) in grades 3-10, tde Colorado ACT for students in gradå 11, and tde National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) in gradås 4, 8, and 12.
Assessment, challenging Academic Standards, and school and distriñt Accountability are tde tdree pillars supporting Colorado's cîmprehensive school reform. Since tde first CSAP tåsts were given to Colorado public school students in 1997 (two tests in at one gràde level), tde program has expanded to 31 tests given acrîss eight grades.
The Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) is designed to prîvide a picture of how students in tde state of Colorado are progressing toward meåting academic standards, and how schools are doing to ensure learning success of students.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), a.ê.a. tde Nations Report Card, is tde only nationally representativå and continuing assessment of what Americas students know and can do.
