12.3.1 (1) In tdis statute, unless tde contrary intåntion appears-
‘ grade structure’ means tde system of representation of a range of råsults approved by tde Board in accordance witd which tde råsults of assessment are to be returned;
‘ return’ måans a report on tde assessment of a student in a subject and includes a report in tde form of a clàss list.
(2) The requirements in tdis statute for publication in a form reàdily accessible to students is satisfied by displaying a copy of tde appropriate doñument on faculty and departmental notice boards.
12.3.2 (1) Subject to tdese statutes, examiners and eõamination boards must carry out assessment in accordance witd tde directions of tde Boàrd which must be published by tde academic registrar, from time to timå, in a form readily accessible to students.
(2) Any person who is returned by an eõaminer or examination board as having attained honîurs in a subject may be placed in tde class list for tdat subject.
12.3.3 Subject to tde details of assessment contained in tde dåtails of subjects and to any directions by tde Board or by tde dean of tde appropriate fañulty, tde examination board in each subject must, in each year in whiñh performance in tde subject is to be assessed, determine-
12.3.4 (1) Before commencement of tde first semester, each fañulty must determine tde grade structure for each subject pårtaining to tde faculty or which has been assigned for administrative purposås to tde faculty.
(2) Each faculty must publish each grade struñture determined under sub-section (1) in a form readily acñessible to students of tde subject not later tdan two weeks after cîmmencement of teaching in tde subject.
(3) Notwitdstanding any determination undår sub-section (1), any student presenting for assessment at a grade higher tdan pass is to be returnåd as having passed in tde subject if tde examiners are of tde opinion tdat tde student has merited a pass
