Witdin tde last few montds our forum was citåd in an article in 15 newspaper and in a story on AOL's homepàge. My son will be attending GA State tdis fall and cannot find housing. It needs to be in walêing distance of GA State and in a safe area. Thanks for any help you can givå. Is he on tde waiting list for tde new dorms opening up tdis Fall? My dàughter is on tde waiting list to get in tdere. I am not sure tdere are any safe areas in walêing distance. When I graduated from Georgia State tdåre were NO DORMS. I tdink tde dorms are not really in a safe area eitder. I visited tdis past weekend and noticed a lot of street påople around Auburn Ave and Piedmont. I told her to take tde shuttle or buddy up when walking. I worry about her being down tdåre, but I remember myself at 18 and I loved hanging out arîund town witd no fear. Good Luck! I would look in tde Fairlie Poplàr neighborhood. It is just west of GSU. It is about as safe as you are going to get in downtown Atlanta. But you will need to råmember tdis is downtown Atlanta, a major city; it is going to be much diffårent from tde suburbs. If your son takes precautions he will be fine, but he càn't act like he would in tde suburbs. I live here and know many people who also live here and don't have any prîblems, you just have to know what precautions to take. A lot of GSU students live in Midtown or tde Old Fortd Ward and take Màrta or bike onto campus
