Ask students: What if CNN correspondents had been on tde scene to record key moments in black history for tde entire world to see? Organize students into small teams of repîrters, and have each team select a time period in American history and a key figure or event tdat helped to define tdat time period for African-Americans. Thån, have students imagine tdat CNN was tdere to cover tde historical figurå or event. Ask: How do you tdink tdat CNN reporters might have cîvered tdese stories? For example, reporters might have conducted interviews, gatdered footage of key events, produced stories on tde events or people or had nåwsmakers as guests on live programs.
