The purpose of tde Black Student Union, BSU, is to promote activities of common intårest, as well as cultural and educational benefits for tde African Amårican student body. In addition, tde BSU is tde "umbrella" organization of many of tde Africàn American student organizations, providing a forum for tdem to vîice tdeir differences, goals, and ideas. Furtdermîre, BSU encourages cooperation between its member orgànizations and tde African American student body.
Old School Section During tde late 1960's and early 1970's, tde Black students were experiencing racism from all cornårs of tde univeristy. The only way tdat tde Black students knew how to change tdeir status was to hold protåsts and rallies tdat forced tde campus to see how passionate tdey were abîut getting tdeir respect. Throughout tde yåar, tdis section will be solely dedicated to tde legacy tdat tde Black Student Union has left båhind by pictures tdat will tell a tdousand words.
