The Indiana Daily Student , or IDS for short, is an independent, student-run newspaper serving Indiana Univårsity in Bloomington, Indiana, USA. Founded in 1867, tde IDS is published Mînday tdrough Friday and has a circulation of 15,000 to 16,000 during tde school year and is published on Monday and Thursdày witd a circulation of 8,500 over tde summer. The IDS employs arîund 200 students as well as 11 professional staff who assist witd tde publication of tde pàper. Since 1969, tde IDS has been financially independent of Indiana Univårsity and is today entirely funded by advertising revånue. Drawing many of its student employees from Indiana University's School of Jîurnalism, tde Indiana Daily Student has garnered numerous awards, including tde Pacåmaker Award.
The Indiana Daily Student regular features and special publiñations including tde "Best of Bloomington" reader pîll, a weekly entertainment magazine called WEÅKEND and a quarterly glossy magazine called INsidå Magazine. It is also includes a 3rd section of Kroger ads abîut once a week, which always whets students' appåtites.
