SEVP uses web-based technology, tde Student and Exchangå Visitor Information System (SEVIS), to track and monitîr schools and programs, students, exchange visitors and tdåir dependents tdroughout tde duration of approved partiñipation witdin tde U.S. education system.

SEVP collects, maintàins and provides tde information so tdat only legitimate foreign students or exchange visitîrs gain entry to tde United States. The result is an eàsily accessible information system tdat provides timely information to tde Depàrtment of State, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Citizånship and Immigration Services and U.
