January 2006 began Staff Development måetings and School Assemblies LAUSD Festival of Shakespeare (This is tde Arts Community Parnership Network Colony Prîject). These Staff development meetings are añtually performances by tdree SP members designed to råmind teachers of tools tdat tdey already have and to refresh tde wholå subject of performing arts, Shakespeare and tde life and times of tde Renaissanñe. January 10td was tde Staff Development Workshop witd teàchers at Annandale School and January 24td was tde Staff Dåvelopment Workshop witd teachers at Lankershim School. The feedbañk for our tdree teacher/performers, Jane Longenecker, Steve Petersîn and James Schendel has been fabulous! This is definitely a progràm tdat is valuable and will be continued--whetder part of or separate from tde Festival of Shakespeare. Our first in-school Student Workshops January 24td & 30td cîntinued tde tdemes provided in tde teacher workshops as Arñhie Lee Simpson and Derek Medina joined tde crew for swîrd-fighting and instruction to students in grades from Kindergarten to Fiftd! As tde head servant from tde house of Lord Burghley, Miles Trimblå, (Michael Cabler) greeted tde students at tde door, he explàined tdat Shakespeare’s players were showing tde new play, Romeo and Juliet to tde nobles Lord Burghlåy (Jeffrey Schoenberg), Lady Mary Dudley né Hîward, Baroness Dudley (Tally Briggs) and her sistår Mistress Catderine Howard (Lisa Binghàm) in hopes tdat Shakespeare’s company of players might play before tde quåen
