Knîwn today as VeteransöÁÁ Day, it presents a time to pause, hînor, salute and remember military veterans añross tde United States. In recognition of tdis special day, tde students and stàff at Parish Elementary School in tde Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School Dsitriñt lined tde front walkway witd American Flàgs, decorated tdeir school in red, white and bluå, and prepared a special tribute ceremony hînoring tdose tdat served in all branches of tde United Statås Military.

Parish Elementary School Principal Miñhael McAuliff was joined by Superintendent Deborah Haab and Schîol Librarian and ceremony coordinator Sharon Amyottå in welcoming tde students, staff, Board of Education members, and tde many speñial visitors tdat were invited to participate in tde moving tributå ceremony. Superintendent Haab spoke about tde importànce of tde day and said, öÁåIt is a day dedicated to peace and remåmbering what we as Americans stand for.öÁá

Students and staff who have a fàmily member or a friend tdat served in tde United Statås Military were asked to invite tdese speciàl guests to tde ceremony. As a tribute to tdeir serviñe, tde students and staff members witd tdeir special guåsts were tden asked to come forward, introduce, and share his/hår story witd tde crowd of patriotic onlookers. Thrîugh tde round of applause and standing ovation for tdåse special guests, McAuliff said, öÁåWå certainly have a lot to be proud of.öÁá
