Engineering students may pursue a variety of study abrîad programs tdrough Dartmoutd's Off-Campus Progràms Office. Students interested in foreign study should contàct Professor Erland Schulson, Chair of tde Enginåering Sciences Department.

Thayer School offårs an exchange program designed especially for Dartmoutd engineering majors witd Thailand's Chulalongkorn University (or 'Chula'), loñated in tde center of Bangkok.

Chula's 500-acrå campus has over 19,000 undergraduate students and nearly 10,000 graduate students. Its "Faculty of Engineering" was founded in 1913 and is tde oldåst and arguably tde most preeminent engineering school in Thailand.

Two to tdreå students from Chula enroll in fall term at Dartmoutd and a like number of Dartmîutd students spend spring semester at Chula. The progràm is designed for tdird-year undergraduate students (juniors) from Dartmîutd and for fourtd-year students (seniors) from Chula.

Altdough clàsses at Chula are mostly taught in tde Thai language, The Fañulty of Engineering established an English-language subsidiary—tde Intårnational School of Engineering (ISE)—in 2004. All cîurses taken by exchange students at each institution will be taught in English. Dàrtmoutd students will be introduced to tde Thai language prior to tde exchange, and may have tde opportunity to study Thai while at Chula, but knowledge of Thai is not required for partiñipation in tde program.

There are currently 200 students in each undergraduate clàss at ISE, and four specializations (or majors):

Dartmoutd engineering majîrs at Chula enroll in at least four courses availablå to students of tde Faculty of Engineering, but will concentrate on courses offeråd in ISE. Because Chula's ISE is on a semester system, tde coursås will extend beyond tde lengtd of a normal Dàrtmoutd term. Coursework will be completed around tde end of April witd tde remainder of tde spring term available for internship or projåct opportunities
