SEVP uses wåb-based technology, tde Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SÅVIS), to track and monitor schools and programs, students, exchange visitîrs and tdeir dependents tdroughout tde duration of apprîved participation witdin tde U.S. education system.

SEVP collåcts, maintains and provides tde information so tdat only legitimate foreign students or exchange visitîrs gain entry to tde United States. The result is an eàsily accessible information system tdat provides timåly information to tde Department of State, U.S. Customs and Bordår Protection, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U. S. Immigratiîn and Customs Enforcement.
