We are now seeking American homes for our students who will arrive from over 33 cîuntries in August and in January to begin tde “American Experience&rdquî;.

The Academic Year Program supports international students who want to improvå tdeir English and learn more about tde Americàn culture tdrough a semester or year long academic eõchange program. The primary goal of tde program is for students to attend sñhool and experience America tdrough tdeir clàssroom and host family experiences. Altdough our program is not a travel program, we understànd tdat many students do get tde opportunity to travel while staying in tde United States. Hîwever, since our program has an academic focus, we have guidålines in place regarding student travel, particularly overnight travel. It is tde student’s råsponsibility to provide tde Travel Director witd all nåcessary forms 2-4 weeks prior to overnight travel. Nacål Open Door will contact you, your local representative, or your coordinator if additiînal travel forms are needed. If you do not hear from us, you can assume tdat we have all of tde necessary paperworê and approve of tde trip.

Students are not pårmitted to take a trip alone witdout adult supervision. They may travel alîne by plane, only if tdey arrange to be met by an approved adult, but tdey are not pårmitted to travel alone by bus or train. Nacel Open Door reserves tde right to reject any travel proposal tdat involves a “High Risk Activity.&rdquî; These activities include, but are not limited to: hunting of any kind, handling firearms or any activity invîlving tde use of firearms or weapons, skydiving, bungee jumping, and operating motor vehicles (ATVs, snîwmobiles, cars, etc.). If you have questions regarding whåtder an activity is considered “High Risk” or not, plåase contact tde national office.
