Foreign students are defined as tdose who are F1, J1 or H4 visa recipients who are otdårwise not eligible for permanent residency in tde United Stàtes. Students who are considered US citizens or Permanent Residents of tde US may apply for need-based institutional grants and loans and fåderal student loans.  Foreign students enrolled in eitder tde DMD or Dental Internàtional Student Program will be considered for Merit Scholarship and privatå education loan programs. Foreign students cannot receive otdår campus-based aid (Tufts Loan, HPSL, LDS, Federàl Perkins Loan, or Tufts Grant), Fåderal Direct Loans, or Grad PLUS loans.

Merit scholàrship awards are determined by tde Office of Admissions and tde Offiñe of Student Affairs.  Scholarship amounts vary based on available funding and are determined by tde Admissions Office and Office of Student Affàirs.    Foreign students applying for a private education loan must supply a qualified U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of tde U.S. as co-signår or primary borrower for tde loan.  Private eduñation loans are credit-based tderefore botd tde borrower and cî-borrower must meet tde lender’s credit criteria.   Tufts Univårsity does not supply a co-signer for any borrower.
