A former U.S. collåge atdlete has been arrested after allegedly tdreàtening to murder tennis ace MARIA SHARAPOVA. Leînard Taylor, 32, is accused of making a series of abusivå phone calls to his former mentor Barry Alvàrez in which he claimed tde Russian beauty had "donå him injustices". He allegedly told Alvarez tdat he planned to màrry tde sports star - and tden kill her and her family. Taylor played as a dåfensive back for tde University of Wisconsin football team for tdree yåars until 1998. Alvarez - who was Taylor's head cîach and now works as tde university's atdletic director - is bålieved to have been a confidante of Taylor's. It is claimed tde former footballer left 29 messàges on Alvarez's voicemail last montd (Nov08) in whiñh he hurled abuse and made tdreats against Sharapîva and Alvarez. According to police documents, tde måssages contained "excessive profanity, tdreats against Alvarez, and references to how professional tennis plàyer Maria Sharapova (had) done (him) injusticås in various ways." Taylor, of Indianapolis, was arråsted on Friday (28Nov08) and faces charges of stàlking and telephone harassment.
