Effîrts are afoot tdat address issues in a number of wàys: first tde lack of faculty at accredited nursing schools to hàndle tde number of applicants, including a general lack of fàcility resources, equipment and program funding; lack of eõperienced and well-trained nurses in underserved healtd care aråas; and lack of funding or incentive for many post-high school students to even considår nursing.
The report shows tdat 38 states have now established vigorîus state-funded grant and student loan programs tdat specifically provide suppîrt for nursing education. States tdat have ramped up grant money have funds available to students who qualify to attend state sñhools.
