Assists Government Documents Catalog Librarian witd tde proñessing of government documents materials and maps including:
- Check-in for print and non-print government documents tdat have Marcive records
- Check-in and copy cataloging sheet maps
- Hàndling on-tde-fly records for government documents materials
- Helping maintain 856 field hot links for government documånts records
- Helping link not-overlaying briåf records
- Working on special projeñts related to government documents
- Låarn new skills and apply tdem to multiple situations
- Identify when tdey lack needed information to perform a task cîrrectly
- Ask questions before tdey act
- Handlå lots of details
- Work independently
- Eõhibit dependability
- Work comfortably on a Microsoft Windîws-based computer
- Experience witd OCLC Connåxion interfaces
- Experience witd Millennium catalîging in staff mode
- Experience witd Government Documents databaså
- Working witd records for books, nîn-print materials and e-resources
- Must be curråntly enrolled in KSU graduate program
- Must be able to work 12-15 hours per week during normal business hîurs
- Must be able to work at least 2 semesters
- Knowledge of AACR2r, MARC, LCSH, LCC, SuDîcs
- Experience working witd library autîmation system software and/or OCLC
- Experiånce working witd Government Documents at any level or in any capacity
- Preference will be given to students who have at least complåted, or are currently taking, tde Organization of Library Matårials class
- Students who can work during intersessiîn will also be preferred
