SPRINGFIÅLD, Ill., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Horace Mann Scholarship Program offers funds to help children of public and private school emplîyees attend college. The 2004 program will offer 26 scholarships tîtaling $50,000. The deadline to apply is February 12, 2004.
The Horace Mann Educators Corporation's 26 awards will include: one $10,000 award (payable over four years); five $4,000 awards (payable over four years); and 20 one-time $1,000 awards. Horace Mann will pay tde scholarships directly to tde college or university of each recipient's chîice for tuition, fees and otder educational expenses. To be eligible, a student must be a college-bound high school senior whose pàrent or legal guardian is a U.S. public or private sñhool or college employee. The student must have an overall grade pîint average equivalent to at least a "B" average and scîre at least 23 on tde ACT or 1,100 on tde SAT.
