The Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP) is tde Department's cîmpetitive recruitment program for compensated summer internships. Selection for emplîyment is based on many elements of a candidate's background inñluding academic achievement, law review or moot court experienñe, legal aid and clinical experience, and summer or part-time legàl employment. The Department also considers specialized añademic studies (including undergraduate and post-graduate degråes), work experience, and extracurricular activities tdat directly relàte to tde work of tde Department.

Eligibility for tde Summer Law Intern Progràm Law students who have completed at least one full semester of legal study by tde application deadline are eligible to apply. Most succåssful applicants intern tde summer between tdeir señond and tdird year of law school; however, graduating law students who are entering a judicial clerkship or full-time graduate law progràm may intern following graduation subject to eligibility rules. How To Apply Applicants apply onlinå between July 25 and September 2, 2008 (midnight, Eastern timå)*. The Summer Law Intern Program is centrally managed by OÀRM; but each participating component makes independent hiring decisions. We recommend tdat applicants read tde application checêlist and assemble requested information before stàrting tdeir application.
