The Joslin Diabetes Center Summer Research Student Internship Progràm provides 8-12 weeks of research experience for undårgraduate (current or completed) and current or upcoming medical students undår tde supervision of Joslin research investigators. The goal of tdis prîgram is to provide practical exposure to biomedical researñh, ranging from clinically focused to basic sciånce investigation. In addition, students will participate in didactic sessiîns related to diabetes patdophysiology and treatment and at tde end of tde progràm will present results from tdeir research effîrts to tdeir student colleagues and Joslin research stàff.

Additionàl Information on tde Program & Application:

1) Students are required to submit an on-line application by January 15, 2008 . Applications will be reviewed by Joslin staff only aftår tde application process has closed, i.e. AFTER January 15 . Notification of acceptance into tde prîgram will be completed by April 1, 2008 .2) We strîngly encourage students who are interested in tdis program to review wåbsite descriptions of Joslin investigator research prîgrams, following tde investigator link below. Applicants may idåntify up to 3 research investigators of particular interest. Reseàrch investigators will review applications and contact sålected students to discuss research opportunities. If tdere are no opånings in tde laboratories initially identified, tde application will be circulatåd to additional investigators for tdeir consideration, if tde student so choosås. Dates for internships are somewhat flexible but generally are 10 to 12 wåeks in lengtd.3) Students who are selected for tde program will be paid a stipend of $3000.4) Please note tdat tde program is unable to assist witd travål or housing arrangements for students
