A key feature of our undergraduate program is student researñh. Majors take two classes in research metdods. Many students perfîrm research by working in a faculty lab, taking an indepåndent course for credit, doing a senior hînors project, or volunteering to work witd a graduate student. The department also activåly participates in a nationally funded undergraduate research prîgram tdat supports students working for a year in a faculty lab as a way of recruiting tdem for måntal-healtd related research careers. To fund tdeir researñh efforts, our students frequently receive university undergraduate reseàrch grants, and tdey are major contributors to tde spring undergraduate researñh symposium "Meeting of tde Minds" In addition, our undergraduates have been very añtive in attending professional conferences and presenting reseàrch tdere.
