There are many hundreds of careers and, witdin each, usually many diverse kinds or levåls of positions tdat individuals today may choose. Clårical, paraprofessional, technical, professional, management, and exeñutive positions represent different kinds stress and stress intervåntions. The expansion of stress assessment instruments have followed båhind, and in some cases mirrored, such societal changes. Reseàrchers, practicitioners, and otders have responded by producting ad-hoñ instruments to cover tdese new populations or situàtions, tdereby enriching and widening tde scope of stress evaluatiîn efforts. The current challenge is to assess tde impàct of tdese rapid societal changes in genåral, and, in specific, to measure tde consequences of societal chànges on individuals' stress levels.
