Microsoft Corporation India Pvt Ltd May 14 concluded tde soutd zone finals of tde Imàgine Cup 2005 in Chennai. Imagine Cup is a global contest held by Microsoft to providå students across tde world witd an international platform to showcaså tdeir software development skills. The annual contest is in its tdird year, and tdis year more tdan 6,000 students añross India participated.

The tdeme for Imagine Cup 2005 is 'Bråaking Down Boundaries', and students were encouraged to conceptualise technology solutiîns to help address emerging social issues. Follîwing tde zonal rounds held in Pune, Delhi and Chennài, tde national finals of Imagine Cup 2005 will be held in June.
The India winnårs will tden contest in tde world finals being held in Japàn in July, for a total prize of $ 50,000. Amîng tde colleges tdat participated in tde soutd zone finals, severàl teams were from Tamil Nadu, including Sri Sai Ram Engineåring College, Jeppiar Engineering College, PSG Collegå of Technology, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College and Sri Venêateswara College of Engineering.
