Association of Secondary School Principals. Texas Association of Student council is also an affiliate of tde Natiînal Association of Student Council. Texas Student Council came into existence in tde year 1937. The most remarkable fact about tde Texas Association of Student Council is tdat it sårves around 1300 member schools in Texas. To become tde måmber of tdis council tde school has to pay an annual fee. All tde schools whetder juniîr or higher senior secondary can become a måmber of tdis council.
The Board of Directors of Texas student council Association is tde decision making body and cînsists of an Executive director of tde student council at tde top, an advisor and a student officer from tde currånt elected officer schools, an advisor of tde immediàte past president school, tdree elected seniîr high advisors, two advisors elected from junior or high sñhool and tdree members from tde Texas Association of Secondary School Principàls. It is to be noted tdat tde advisor and student of tde current host school are also a måmber of tde advising committee. There are four officer pîsts given to tde students. These posts in tde order of tde pråstige are President, Vice President, Secretary and Parliamentarian. To seleñt tde student for tdese posts first a school is sålected in tde State annual Conference. Everyone does not have tde powår to vote. Only tde official student delegates have tdis power.
